Ideal Honeywell Boiler Solenoid Coil 240V 060524 45900406-003U
Product Overview
The Ideal Boiler Solenoid Coil (Part Number: 060524, Component Reference: 45900406-003U) is an electromagnetic control component designed for selected Ideal heating systems.
The solenoid coil forms part of the boiler's gas valve control arrangement, producing a magnetic field when energised to operate the associated valve mechanism.
Part number 45900406-003U is identified as a 240V Solenoid Coil. It is a separate electrical component and should not be confused with a complete gas valve assembly.
Correct solenoid operation is important for the controlled operation of the gas valve and the boiler's combustion system.
ℹ️ Product Condition Options:
This part may be available in New or Refurbished condition. Please select your desired option from the dropdown menu above. Refurbished components should be professionally inspected and electrically tested to confirm correct operation and insulation integrity before installation.
Technical Insight & Common Failure Symptoms
The solenoid coil is an electromagnetic component that operates in conjunction with the boiler's gas valve mechanism. When the appropriate electrical supply is applied, the coil generates a magnetic field that operates the associated valve mechanism.
The 240V coil is designed for use with the specified gas valve arrangement. Its electrical rating and physical configuration must match the manufacturer's requirements.
Over time, solenoid coil performance may be affected by winding deterioration, overheating, damaged insulation or electrical connection faults.
Possible symptoms that may indicate a solenoid coil or associated gas valve problem include:
-
Boiler failing to ignite or fire correctly.
-
Gas valve failing to operate when correctly commanded.
-
Intermittent burner operation.
-
Boiler entering an ignition-related safety lockout.
-
Electrical faults affecting gas valve operation.
-
Visible overheating or damage to the coil.
-
Damaged or deteriorated electrical connections.
These symptoms do not necessarily confirm a faulty solenoid coil, as similar problems may result from gas valve faults, ignition components, electrical controls, wiring or gas supply issues. Correct professional diagnosis should be carried out before replacement.
Compatibility
This part (MPN: 060524, Component Reference: 45900406-003U) is associated with selected Ideal Classic and Classic Combi boiler systems.
Please verify the exact boiler model, GC number, gas valve configuration, coil voltage and electrical connections against the manufacturer's technical documentation before ordering to ensure correct fitment.
Safety Advice
Boiler solenoid coils associated with gas valve assemblies are safety-critical control components. Inspection, removal and installation must only be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer who is suitably qualified for the appliance and work being undertaken.
Always isolate the appliance's electrical and gas supplies as required before carrying out any work and follow the manufacturer's servicing instructions. Ensure the coil is correctly fitted and electrically connected. All required gas valve operation, ignition, gas-tightness, combustion and operational safety checks must be completed before the boiler is returned to service.
