The GLOWWORM ULTRACOM 2 EXPANSION VESSEL 0020097328 & PRV 0020014173 is a replacement kit designed for use within selected Glowworm heating systems.
This kit combines two important components of the sealed heating system: the expansion vessel, which accommodates the expansion of heated system water to help maintain stable operating pressure, and the pressure relief valve (PRV), which is designed to safely release excess pressure if the system exceeds its designed operating limit. Together, these components help protect the boiler and heating system from excessive pressure and support safe, reliable operation.

Technical Insight & Common Failure Symptoms
The expansion vessel contains an internal air chamber that absorbs pressure increases as the heating system warms up. If the vessel loses its charge or the internal diaphragm fails, system pressure can rise excessively, causing the PRV to discharge water. Once a PRV has operated repeatedly, it may no longer reseal correctly and may also require replacement.
Typical symptoms linked to a faulty expansion vessel or PRV include:
- Rapid boiler pressure increases when the heating is operating
- Pressure relief valve leaking or discharging water
- Frequent need to repressurise the heating system
- Boiler pressure dropping after cooling
- Water escaping from the PRV discharge pipe
- Pressure-related boiler lockouts or fault codes
Replacing both the expansion vessel and PRV together may help restore stable system pressure and reliable boiler operation.

Parts must be returned in the same condition and packaging as received, or we may deduct a percentage of the cost of the part.
A full refund or exchange will be agreed once the item(s) have been received and inspected to ensure they are unused and in their original packaging where applicable.
If the part is returned as faulty and is found to be working upon inspection, postage costs will be deducted from the refund.
