Correct gas valve operation is essential for controlled burner ignition, combustion and safe boiler operation.

ℹ️ Product Condition Options:

This part may be available in New or Refurbished condition. Please select your desired option from the dropdown menu above. Any refurbished gas valve must be professionally inspected and tested to confirm that it meets the required operating and safety specifications before installation.

Technical Insight & Common Failure Symptoms

The gas valve is a safety-critical component responsible for controlling gas flow to the boiler's burner.

It operates in conjunction with the boiler's electronic controls and combustion system to provide the required gas supply during burner operation.

Over time, gas valve operation may be affected by electrical faults, internal mechanical deterioration or problems with associated connections.

Possible symptoms that may indicate a gas valve or associated combustion system problem include:

• Boiler failing to ignite or fire correctly.

• Burner failing to establish or maintain a flame.

• Intermittent burner operation.

• Boiler entering an ignition-related safety lockout.

• Boiler failing to respond correctly to heating or hot water demand.

• Gas valve failing to operate when correctly commanded.

• Combustion or gas supply-related faults.

These symptoms do not necessarily confirm a faulty gas valve, as similar problems may result from ignition electrodes, gas supply issues, electrical controls, wiring or other combustion components. Correct professional diagnosis should be carried out before replacement.

Compatibility

This part (MPN: 720301001) is associated with selected Baxi Duo-tec Combi 24, 28, 33 and 40 HE and HE A boiler systems.

Please verify the exact boiler model, GC number, original part number, gas type and valve specifications against the manufacturer's technical documentation before ordering to ensure correct fitment.

Safety Advice

Boiler gas valves are safety-critical components within the gas and combustion system. Inspection, removal, installation and adjustment must only be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer who is suitably qualified for the appliance and fuel type.

Always isolate the appliance and gas supply before carrying out any work and follow the manufacturer's installation and servicing instructions. The replacement valve must be correctly installed and commissioned in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements. All necessary gas-tightness, combustion analysis, burner operation and safety checks must be completed before the boiler is returned to service.
